Rank Structure and Promotion Requirements

CADET RANKS / NCOs (NON COMISSIONED OFFICERS)

The rank and promotion structure is similar to that of the Canadian forces. As our affilliation is to the Halifax Rifles (RCAC), some ranks have alternate titles to reflect on armoured regiment traditions, but the grade or rank value is the same. Upon joining the corps, you are a 'cadet.' As you pass training levels and demonstrate leadership qualities you will become eligiable for a promotion. You will be referred to as 'Rank Lastname'. Although the ranks given to cadets are the same as NCO's of the Canadian Military, a cadet *NEVER* outranks a service member.

OFFICER RANKS

Members of our staff who are enrolled in the Cadet Instructer Cadre hold officer ranks of the Canadian Army. They start out as Officer Cadets and at unit level stop at Major. However Cadets should be able to identify all of the ranks, as anyone Second Lieutenent and higher has to be saluted.
